A Stroll in the Rain
The oh-so sweet sound of the rain falling heavily on a Sunday is so beautiful. My body fills with an unexplainable excitement; it’s such a different emotion I have experienced. It’s a euphoric feeling. A sudden urge to go out for a walk and just explore my surroundings overwhelms me. I pull on my runners, rain coat and a hat, as quickly as possible to get out the door so I can be outside. I do this fast because for some reason I always afraid that the downpour is going to end any second and I will miss the magnificence of it. So I scurry out of the house and down my street going into the direction of the beach. It’s completely silent, like every car has been taken of the roads; I can hear the droplets hitting the earth all around me. A soothing rhythm of the downpour falling on the shoulder of my jacket stands out, while I am attentively listening to everything. Making my way onto Cedar drive the cement is covered in fallen leaves. The ground is a fiery deep orange; so unique and beautiful. My eyes wander around looking at the trees dripping with water, like they are being cleansed of any pollutions. Each step is greeted with the squishing noise of water under my shoes, it`s so refreshing and I long to hear it again; so I take another step, then another continuously repeating. Mother-nature has spoiled me with such beauty on this day, I feel like I am so fortunate to be in quietness and serenity. When fall is here I know that this will return and allow me to experience such splendor.Those strolls in the rain are going to be the one thing I will remember.

Canadian Talent
So this is a really quick post for everyone.I had my music on shuffle while I was beginning to write for an assignment when I began to get lost in this song. The name of it is called After Tonight and the singer is Justin Nozuka and he has the most amazing voice; it has a sultry tone and soulful style.He is also Canadian bred and needs to be recognized for his work, so I added the you tube video of the song and I really hope you listen to it because his lyrics are so beautiful and this music is perfect for a calming , chill-out day.

Taking a look into Spirituality
After being a strong lover of yoga and philosophy, I became intrigued into the religion of Buddhism and decided to look further into the less known and understood lifestyle.After briefly reading some online books about the beliefs that are intertwined into the spirituality; I was also fortunate to also be able to read into the history in the creation of Buddhism, and how it evolved into the fourth most popular religion in the world.It was unbelievable how similar many of the practice's I do ,were also a large part of Buddhists trainings.3 beliefs that stood out when I was researching this was;
1.Discernment, insight, wisdom, enlightenment. This is the real heart of Buddhism. Wisdom will emerge if your mind is pure and calm.
2.The principle of equality: that all living entities are equal.
3.Discernment, insight, wisdom, enlightenment. This is the real heart of Buddhism. Wisdom will emerge if your mind is pure and calm.
The act of meditation is so unbelievable.The ability to forget the world around you and to completely relax your mind clearing it from any thought is so intriguing; and as a beginner at this I find it very difficult at times to let go of the stress and worries that are in our lives.These beliefs that are practiced in Buddhism are something I can relate to in the sense that I believe in them and aim try to spiritually obtain these qualities.The Buddhism religion is so dissimilar from all others because it allows the human to think and act in an independent way but still have the same connection towards the Buddha and other gods .I feel as though the religion is unique to its own and that beliefs are an internal peace that cannot be taken away by anyone, because the only thing that is treasured in the Buddhists life is their mind and soul.So by researching and discovering more about the religion of Buddhism I have strengthened my interest in the spiritual aspects and hope to be able to continue in absorbing and experiencing more about Buddhism.

Music for the Soul
So as I sit in my room listening to music I decided what better for me for a first post then to talk about my favorite music groups that are currently being listened to on my Ipod. I was always the person who would listen to what the top charts had playing.However as I realized those songs gave me no emotion or response and I had no interest in them, I found that music was a way for me to feel and express the moods I was feeling the that moment.During this time I listened every genre of music trying to find that right one, but something clicked when I began to listen to bands such as Kings of Leon , Florence and the Machines and Mumford and Sons. The difference between these bands and the rest? Well they actually tell a story with their lyrics that they write unlike the pop princesses that only sing about vain things, that they most likely didnt compose themselves.In contrast these groups I fell in love with told stories about love, life, and experiences.When they played I felt emotion, whether it had stroked sadness and joyfulness.It was so refreshing from only hearing repetitive lyrics that had no effect on me.Not only did the words in the songs effect me but also the musical part of it.The songs contained layers of instruments played by the artists, each individually incorporated so perfectly in the verses and chorus.Music began to be one of the most important things in my life after that.I felt inspired to express myself in a creative way from this,so I learnt how to play the guitar.I loved it, it made me so calm and practicing was not a chore. It was something I was eager to do.It was so eye opening seeing how hard it truly is for a music artist to be able to write a unique piece that has meaning,and to play and sing.To make it in the music world takes only the best of the best and I have so much respect for the people who can do it.
"Their music is full of life... it feels real, it feels like a memory, something you have lived before"
