Haikus

The rose you give me
Is a sign of our rough past
But also true love

With each strum you play
Every word you sing to me
Time stands still for us

Hard lines on your face
Tell a story of hardship
And the pain of war

Why is it like this
Cancer taking a good man
Gramps keep on fighting

Lets stick together
Family is not just a word
Strong support is here
The end of school is so near
Unlike the others there is not much I fear
Soon a new beginning will come for me
In a different and learning filled world for me to see
Tears and many smiles will be filled on my face when I have to say goodbye
"Don't worry mother" I say followed by a deep and long sigh
This is a time for me to truly find my own
An adventure is to come, one that is still unknown
The last months have arrived
All the tests and exams I survived
Graduation and many important days ahead
For me there is no time to waste laying in bed
So farewell to you all
I shall see you next fall

Ello to England!

Just thought I would share some exciting news! I am officially heading to England for an 11 month volunteering exchange. My interviews are complete and all that's left is a group meeting briefing me for my departure at the end of August.Eek! such exciting thing for me.I can wait to enjoy a new culture with new people and view others outlooks on life.I also get to work with kids with disabilities and help them with their everyday lives which is going to be such a neat experience ,as I want to become a nurse after this trip of a lifetime.Something so good about this adventure for me is that I will get breaks so I can travel all through Europe seeing so much history and landmarks I only dreamed about before this opportunity came.I am looking forward to this so much and many say its silly to take a year off before going back to school, but I feel as though it will be a refreshing, positive and helpful break for me before I get my head back in the books!
